Two weeks ago, April 3-5, BK Authors produced another excellent virtual nonfiction book marketing workshop, this year rebranded as BookPlan 2024: How to Market Your Nonfiction Book.
I’ve written often about the annual event, including last year: 22 Books by Berrett-Koehler 2023 Marketing Workshop Presenters & Participants. (Berrett-Koehler published my first book, in 2009.)
According to its website, “BK Authors is a 501 c3 non-profit community of authors published by Berrett Koehler. Our mission is to help authors get their message out to the world, connect with each other to revitalize our spirits, collaborate on mutual passions, and to provide a supporting community to aid in creating a world that works for all.”
As with last year’s event, the presenters, panelists, and moderators were a mixture of Berrett-Koehler authors, BK staff members/executives, and outside experts/practitioners. BK’s newly announced CEO and Publisher Praveen Madan presented on April 5, with Future of Bookstores and Publishers: A 15-Year Love Story, by the CEO of Berrett-Koehler and Kepler’s Books.
Continuing from last year and earlier, I have curated books below by panelists, presenters, and selected participants. Most of the books have been published by Berrett-Koehler, but I’ve noted the non-BK books with an asterisk. I’ve limited selections to one per author.
This year’s BookPlan was a terrific mixture of practical advice, solid information about publishing and the various activities that go into it, and participation/networking opportunities, particularly during the breakout sessions. I’m already looking forward to the 2025 event!
