Revisiting the 69 Educators List

On November 3, 2021, I introduced “69 Educators Who Remind Me of Peter Drucker’s 1969 Learning and Teaching Quote.” I’ve since gotten many favorable reactions to that list and related posts about it. The most recent until today, from June 1, 2022, is “33 Google Scholar Pages from my 69 Educators List,” so I wanted to post an update to bring the spotlight back to the educators.

As I pointed out in the initial 2021 post, the list is not meant to be exhaustive or definitive and “includes people I know from the Drucker world; plus some that I’ve worked with in my capacity as managing editor of Leader to Leaderand others who are teaching colleagues at The Catholic University of AmericaSome are people I’ve interacted with either at conferences or presentations. Some are former colleagues at USA TODAY. Not all people on this list are full-time faculty.”

I’m re-running all of their LinkedIn profiles below, so you can see the latest information about each person, and in some cases, I’ve included new affiliations in the identifiers. As you check out the online profiles you’ll see that some of the educators have had significant recent activity that may or may not be directly related to their teaching.

Higher education continues to undergo massive changes. We need to learn all we can from the people on this list. And as a refresher, here is the quote that started it all: “Learning and teaching are going to be more deeply affected by the new availability of information than any other area of human life.” –– Peter DruckerThe Age of Discontinuity, 1969
